Do you ever take for granite the beauty that is around you? Look around you. I’m sure if we all took the time to really look around (and not just right in front of us) we would be surprised at the beauty that is around us all each and every day. God really has blessed us all, we just can’t always see it.
It wasn’t until recently that I started to really take a closer look at my surroundings. I had been longing for something more. I thought the only way we would truly feel at peace and at home was if we moved away. We had hopes and dreams of living in the south, in the mountains. When we realized that this was not a possibility for our family we were discouraged. That is until we sat down and really thought about what we would be leaving behind. Not only would we miss our family, we would miss our surroundings. We take for granite every day what is right here in front of us.
The next time you go for a drive, even if it’s just to the grocery store, take a minute to look around and not just at the road in front of you. Take it all in and really appreciate the beauty around you. Trees and grass and blue skies appear so much more beautiful when we aren’t taking them for granite.
And with that I must tell you all about our little trip we took this week.
My husband had to travel to a small town on the outskirts of Nashville this week. We decided to tag along. What a long drive, but what a beautiful ride!
Here are some of our views…
Don’t you just love the quiet and serene feeling this photo gives you? I do!
Sun going down on our drive home.
What is it like where you live?
