Staying Active & Having Fun w/ Wobbly Worm #sponsored

Thank you Wobbly Worm/Spin Master for sponsoring this post/video and getting my kids active while having fun! We homeschool so our children are always together and always at home. Now, most people ask me how I keep them from getting bored, fighting and becoming overweight. When we first started homeschooling 3 years ago, I had no idea how I was going to do all of this, however I knew that I wanted my boys to be active and to do more than just sit around the house all day long.   One way that we keep our children active and from getting bored is by keeping them busy. We like to have activities and games lined up, but we also like to allow them to use their imaginations and explore as well. We received the Wobbly Worm game and couldn't wait to give it a try! <----Check out the video we made below---> Wobbly Worm is a fun and physically active game for young kids! It keeps kids occupied with multiple ways to play and levels of difficulty (3 ring sizes, 2 ways to … [Read more...]

Somebody Got Glasses!!! #ad #glassesusa

This post is sponsored by GlassesUSA. All opinions expressed are our own. I have had glasses since I was in the 6th grade, however I only need them to see distance, so I don't wear them all of the time. My husband also has glasses. He has had his glasses since he was in the 7th grade, and his prescription is a little stronger than mine, so he wears his glasses more often. Our oldest son got his first pair of glasses when he was in the first grade. He has the worst prescription of all of us and has to wear his glasses or contacts at all times. Recently our 11 year old son had to get his first pair of glasses. His prescription isn't horrible, but he needs the glasses for seeing distance. We do not have vision insurance, so purchasing the glasses in the doctor's office was sort of out of the question. What we like to do is look for glasses online in the comfort of our home and take our time picking them out. This way we don't feel rushed and we have time to look at every pair and … [Read more...]

Overcoming My Health Issues

I received this product for free from Moms Meet (momsmeet.com), May Media Group LLC, who received it directly from the manufacturer. As a Moms Meet blogger, I agree to use this product and post my honest opinion on my blog. The opinions posted are my own. You may remember the short break I took a couple of years ago due to my stomach problems? Maybe you don't remember, or you are just tuning in, and that's fine because I'm going to fill you in. So, I was having a lot of stomach issues and pain between my shoulder blades and under my rib cage. I had been to the doctor for it on several occasions. He was determined I had GERD and would send me on my way with a different prescription each time. The pain was getting worse, the prescriptions weren't touching it and I was getting frustrated, so I visited a new doctor. This new doctor ran tests and determined that I needed to have my gall bladder removed. I was thrilled to finally have answers. The only problem? It was a short fix. I felt … [Read more...]

Just Give Me Sunny Weather…

Ohio weather can be crazy! It will be snowing one day and then sunny and 60 the next day. The weather can really affect a person's mood, so it's tough when the weather is constantly changing as drastically as ours. This past week has been awesome though! I definitely can not complain about 60 degree weather in February! It really does just make you want to go out and plant some flowers, put your jogging shoes on and .... Get ice cream! The fresh air is so great for our mind, body and soul. Seriously, just opening the windows and feeling that slightest bit of warm breeze blowing in has been great! Yesterday we ate our ice cream by the lake. My boys love to explore, so it was fun for them to be able to get out and stretch their legs. I love that the lake is super close to our new home, so we don't have far to drive! What has the weather been like where you live? More to come on Raising My 5 Sons... … [Read more...]

Let Them Be Little

How many times have you found yourself getting upset because your children were making a mess? Oh, I'm right there with you! I'm not even going to try to pretend that I'm the perfect parent or that little things don't bother me---especially messes, those are really hard to overlook. However, I will say that I've recently had a lot of time to sit and think about things. I guess I have sort of been pondering the things in my life. Thinking about what is important and what really needs my time and attention. In all of this pondering and deep thought I've always come up with one thing...my kids, they are always deserving of my time and my attention. No matter how old they are, they are always deserving of "ME". And this is why I have decided to step back a little from some of the other things that have been boggling my life down a bit. Hey, you may actually see me blogging a little more now. (I hope so, anyway! I truly love to write and really hope to get this site back to one that you … [Read more...]

Sunny Sunday-Courageous Movie Review

Today was a beautiful day. I still can't believe it was like 60 degrees in OHIO on a January day! It just blows my mind! However, I'm quite certain that in a couple of days we will be experiencing freezing temps with rain or something crazy, because that's how Ohio is. Drastic weather changes are totally normal for us. On Sundays we visit my sister and her family. We always do a bible study together and we enjoy a nice meal. The kids play and the adults enjoy the company of one another. Today we decided to watch a movie that my sister had recorded on her DVR. The movie was great and it really made me think, so I thought I would talk about it a bit. I want to start by saying that it's hard to find good family friendly videos now days. That is one of the reasons that I always feel compelled to write a review or share when I do find a good family friendly or inspiring video. The movie we watched today was called Courageous. About the movie: Four men, one calling: To serve and … [Read more...]
