Finally Friday!

It's funny how a quick trip to town with 4 boys can end up taking up the whole day. We woke up around 8am this morning, which is actually sleeping in around here. I was so happy that they let me sleep in a little because the baby had me up pretty late last night. I think his teeth were bothering him because once I used the orajel swabs on him and gave him a little bit of Tylenol he was fine. Thank goodness! Anyways, back to what I was saying...I prepared breakfast for all of the boys and after cleaning up all of our breakfast dishes I sat down behind my computer to pay some bills while the boys watched some morning cartoons. (At this point they are still a little mellow because they haven't been up long, but after about the first cartoon they are off and playing!)My oldest decided to make everyone subs for lunch today (which consisted of a hotdog bun with ham and cheese and mustard or ketchup, and he put banana peppers on mine...yummy!) The boys love to help out in the kitchen! After … [Read more...]

Oh my…Oh my!!!!

Where do I even begin tonight? Ok, here goes...We are all sitting in the living room watching television. Our oldest had turned the tv to a Nickelodeon show, Malcolm in the Middle. I'm not sure I have ever actually seen this show, and I'm trying to get the baby to sleep, so I'm not actually watching a whole lot of it. The boys are just sitting here watching the tv, and I must say they are very into it. And then all of a sudden our 6 year old says, "What is sex?" My oldest, who is almost 9 is giggling, and our almost 4 year old is just sitting there. My jaw is about to drop to the floor as I'm yelling for my hubby to get in the room to help me out! How do you answer this sort of question when you are speaking to 3 little boys all under 9!? So, I'm still thinking and still have not answered the question, and my darling 6 year old says, "What Mom, just tell us." Our almost 9 year old says I know what it means as he is giggling a little more. I ask him to whisper in my ear just exactly … [Read more...]

Happy 6th Birthday!

We had a birthday boy today! This morning he came creeping down the steps and into the living room. I wished him a Happy Birthday, probably a little louder than I should have given he had just woke up, but it was means to celebrate! He looked at me sort of with one eye completely opened and the other half open/half shut. There was this real look of confusion on his sweet little half asleep face. I don't think it had quite hit him that today actually was his birthday. We had been talking about his birthday coming for so long that I don't think he really ever thought it was going to get here. Of course, once he was fully awake (which didn't take long at all)he made it a point to let everyone know all day long that it was his birthday! I believe birthdays last about a week or so around here. At least that is how it seems. It's a lot of fun, but once they are over I feel whooped! We are having his big birthday party on Saturday and on Sunday we are off to Chuck E Cheese! I'm hoping we can … [Read more...]

Time to relax…

I feel like it is finally time to sit back and relax. It was such a busy weekend and we had an appraisal done on the house today. Thank goodness that is over! The kids were so cute helping out today! They actually asked if they could help! My Mom and her friend came over and helped me get things ready as I was a little overwhelmed by everything. I was following the boys around picking things up as they dropped them. I felt a ton better when they came and offered to take the boys outside. The boys had so much fun! They made a ramp for their bikes and were riding up and down the ramp! My mom's friend has boys, so she knows exactly what little boys like! They even trimmed the bushes out back for me! How sweet! :) I received the Children's Place order today that I had told you all about. I was really excited! I believe I got 18 shirts and 2 pairs of shorts all for around $106 (shipping, tax and everything!) Not bad! Here is a pic of everything I ordered. Sorry for the glare, I had the … [Read more...]

Wow, what a crazy weekend!

I always hate to see the weekend come to an end, but I must admit that I'm a little happy to see this weekend end. We had such a busy, hard working weekend, and I am ready to just sit back and relax for a change! I'll start off by telling you that we are officially DONE, yes I said it, DONE siding the house! Woohoo!!! It was a process and took up several weekends, but we did it and we saved ourselves so much money doing it ourselves. I must say though that without the help of my father in law and our wonderful neighbor it would have taken us a little longer. So thanks to you guys! (Although, I'm sure they are not reading my blog.) We were invited to attend a wedding reception of a girl that I was best friends with in high school. We had lost touch for a while, as she moved to a nearby state and I guess we both started our families and were concentrating on that. I was SO excited the day that we reconnected on facebook! It really is a wonderful place to find old friends! I … [Read more...]

Guess I didn’t need that!

My title is the story of my life! When you live in a house full of boys everything is disposable! When shopping for anything you have to keep in mind that one of the kids may break it! I don't know what it is about angels, but anytime I get an angel one of the kids breaks it! It used to always be the right wing of the angel, but today the baby broke the bottom of, what I think is my very last angel. I have had this one for several years, and I was really beginning to grow accustomed to it. Today I rewarded the boys for their cleaning efforts the last couple of days. They are always so excited to get their rewards! I love treating them too when they help out around the house! So we loaded up and went to Wal-Mart. It sort of slipped my mind that there was a festival going on in town, and boy was it crowded! I was a little half tempted to turn around and take the boys another day, but they were so excited and had worked so hard for it. We pulled into the completely packed parking lot and … [Read more...]
